Saturday morning Oct. 18, 2008.From the office, we took a cab going to Victory Liner Caloocan. We arrived there around 9:30 am , the bus left 9:45 am.. We arrived at San Antonio Zambales around 1:30 pm i think, from San antonio, we took a tricycle ride going to pundaquit and fare costs P25 pax. Just to set your expectation, it will be a 10-15 min tricycle ride,4.5kms almost. You can tell the driver that you will be going to pundaquit, if you have preferred resort..tricycle drivers can bring you there since all those resorts are sitting beside each other. In our case, we opted to be dropped at Nora’s Resort, where we met the owner, Aling Nora. Unfortunately, those airconditioned rooms(P2000
0 are fully booked and the only ones remaining are the nipa hut like cottages with its own kitchen,cr and bedroom. We decided to go to its nearby resort, Canoe Resort where we had the options to pick the type of room we want, either we choose the dormitary typed room,good for 8 persons (P4k) or the other room which is good for P2,200. My colleagues opted to choose the second one since our group consists of 4 guys and 4 girls. Amenities are already included like the volleyball court,swimming pool and the ihawan are. We took our dinner at Aling Nora’s resort since there are lots of variety meals to choose from. In our case, we ate chicken adobo,chop suey and fried chicken. Dont expect the food here to be cheap, coz its like you’re eating in a restaurant. So if you prefer to cook your own food, its better to buy first at San Antonio Public Market and choose Aling Nora’s nipa hut cottages(P3000). We took our dinner early around 5:30 pm so that we can catch the sunset and still have some time to swim at the beach. Ill be posting some of the shots taken using my phone. So far,this is one of the best beach i have visited. Water is so clear,sand is grayish all throughout. No worries in stepping on a rock that might hurt your foot. When the sun was completely out, we went back to Canoe,took a swim at the pool and started our drinking session. The day after, we took our breakfast at Aling Nora’s as early as 6:30 am.The food is good, thats all i can say at aling Nora’s resort though the price are not good. You can choose whether you want tapsilog, bangsilog, tocilog, longsilog for P100@. In our case,she gave us free coffee. Aling Nora will offer you boat ride going to anawangin however, it will cost P1300 per boat (good for 4-5 persons). Its still better to talk directly to the bangkeros because its gonna be a lot cheaper. In our case, we spent P650 per boat. Just look for Mang Ric Aneceto and tell him that i reffered him to you. If you prefer to go to Capones Island, its going to be P600 per boat. Life vest is required for those who dont know how to swim. Most boats should have life vests ready with them but those life vest aint that good and you might still find yourself renting at capones resort or buying your own.It took us 30 mins to anawangin. Anawangin paradise, thats what i think it should be called. Its like a mini boracay in zambales,san so white and so pure..If you prefer to stay there for a while, it would cost you P50 each and P150 for overnight. in our case, we thought that there’s no entrance fee and so we dont have money by that time. we were able to enjoy the beach for a while until some lady was asking for our entrance fee. At first we thougt that you will only pay if you’re going to use their facilities. In our case we did not use any of their facilities and still insist that we should pay them. As per that lady,the portion of that resort was owned by Nestor Aguilar. We were asking for any contact number of that owner but she cant provide any. We left anawangin after taking our lunch w/o paying that lady caretaker. Its not our fault since we were not approached when we entered their vicinity.So next time, just make sure that we bring enough cash to pay for the entrance fee. More photos can be found here.

  Alot of people prefer to use firefox nowadays because its a lot faster than Internet Explorer. Not all people know that there are still some ways in boosting up you browsing speed using mozilla firefox. Here’s how.

First, type “about:config” without question marks then press enter..you will be given  a lot of lists and you need to look for these “Preference Names” : network.http.pipelining, network.http.proxy.pipelining and network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Second, change their value to “True” by just doubleclicking on the first two. For the network.http.pipelining.maxrequests , double click it as well, then change value to 30(this will make 30 requests at once).

Lastly,  right click on anywhere on the browser and create a new integer named “nglayout.initialpaint.delay” make its value to ”0″ this means that browser will wait 0 seconds before it acts on the information it receives.

Restart your firefox and you’ll see a bigger difference.

Ive been using my Nokia N95 for months now. So far i still prefer having this instead of N82 though we all know that n82’s camera is a lot better than n95’s camera. I really prefer Nokia N95 the way it looks and how it was designed. For only P300(6$), i can change its fron and back housing to whatever color I want. Here’s a sample of my N95 white edition.“

Opera mini is third party browser that is widely used by mobile phones to browse through the internet. It can be installed to any mobile phone that supports java. Right now,developers have created a version that is also compatible for windows mobile phones. Operamini is a great browser because it uses less bandwith,which means browsing will be a lot faster and it won’t consume too much data transfer. Several versions of opera mini has been modified in such a way you can conect to your network for free. Currently,im using two versions of opera mini for my mobile phone. One for Smart, and the other one for Globe. You should have at least P1 load for you to be able to browse the internet as long as you can till your batteries ran out. Few months way back, Smart Philippines launched the countries first wireless broadband. Using a wireless usb modem that you can plug to your desktop or laptop computer, you can connect anywhere in the Philippines.Speed still varies depending on your location or surroundings. You need to buy a prepaid usb kit and if you opted for the smartbroadband postpaid,you can choose from their plan offering. Same as globe visibility broadband,you also need to have a usb kit and subscription to avail the service. For most people, they dont know that they can use their mobile phone as a modem w/o buying a usb kit that costs around 3k-4k.Whether you have smart,globe,or sun. Price are quite the same, for Globe, its P5 per mins provided that you have texted the word TIME to 1111 or for smart which is P10 per 30 mins. Since im a globe subscriber, i tried connecting it first as a modem using my Nokia N95, im not quite impressed with its coverage and speed cause the maximum speed that i can get is upto 300-500 kbps. Connection fluctuates from time to time making the connection poorer and a lot slower. And so i tried smart, I was impressed with the speedtest result because i got around 700kbps. That was the speed that i got when i was in our apartment in cubao area. Lately, i went to my girlfriends apartment in Mandaluyong and achieved a whooping download speed of 1.2 mbps. From that day on, used my Smart prepaid sim mainly for internet browsing and my Globe for texting and calling.

Maybe some of you are quite confused on which phone to buy,will it be the classy N95 or the sleek N82.  Wellit really depends on your taste, If you want bigger screen and a slide up phone, go with the N95. If you want durability and camera wise, go for the N82. Ive been an N95 user for quite sometime and I really enjoy using it, with its camera that captures 5 megapixel shots, DVD quality video that can be played on an external TV using its TV-output., theres nothing more you can ask for. Few months later, N82 was released. The N95 killer! At first i didnt believe that N82 is better than mine,but upon reading some reviews about it. It made me realize that N82 is alot better. Camera quaity is unnoticeable until you capture a fast moving object. Posted below are shots of a fast spinning electric fan taken by my N95 (right) and my newly acquired N82 (left) from Globe. With the N82’s xenon flash, it captured the fan like its steady. But with N95, you cant hardly see where the elisi is. Sad to say i had to let go my N82 because i still prefer using my N95. Screen is alot wider and its housing is a lot easier to replace. You can change it in any colors you want.
